This Bowie Knife is similar to a handful of others, unmarked as to maker or place of fabrication. It is owned by a private collector. The silver escutcheon surrounding the handle obscures its method of construction. With the help of Douglas Hutchinson, M.D., we were able to xray the handle and determine how it was put together. Jud was able to use this information to create 2 contemporary examples of this outstanding historic American Bowie.
