The Crockett Rifle

The exquisite David Crockett rifle was completed on April 5, 2013.
I will leave it to the expert & owner, Robert Weil, to explain the provenance of this beautiful late style flintlock. This rifle will appear on the website that inspires this one: contemporarymakers.blogspot.com.

The J.P. Beck style rifle for my wife Barbara in 32 cal is finished!
Here are some preliminary pictures.
This is an exceptionally beautiful rifle and all who have handled it have remarked on its perfect balance and pleasing proportions.
Total weight less than 5 pounds! It's a surprise for her birthday this weekend - shhhh!

This fine little rifle by Jud Brennan has amazed all who have seen it with its diminutive size, perfect balance, proportion and accuracy.

In this series of photographs the intricate steps required to create this rifle are shown.

Possibles Bag by David Brennan

This beautiful bag was specially made for my wife Barbara by David Brennan to accompany a soon to be finished future project (hint: check the next blog - she doesn't know yet!).
The bag features a quickly accessible outside pocket and is decorated with a weeping heart motif.

The patch knife is by Jesse Brennan. Powder horn and decorated touch hole pick are by David Brennan.

Sam Bell Knife by Jud Brennan

Here is the finished knife #100 in Judson's lifetime knife making catalog.
Special features include forge welded 1095 steel for the blade, extensive engraving, silver sheath in the Sam Bell tradition with a compartment for the bolster, and a large garnet pinned to the pommel to hide the handle mounting tang screw. Also featured is a beautifully executed Spanish notch.
