Chasing After the Big Bore Dickert Upon Completion!

This was my last chance to see the completed big bore Dickert Rifle before it is shipped of to its new owner - one of the Owensboro Boys, all of them collectors and appreciators of the finest Longrifles.

I drove to Tenderfoot last Thursday, a beautiful spring day. CAVU! (Calm air visibility unlimited!) One of the first days of beauty and clarity in the past 9 months of the worst Alaskan winter weather that I can remember in 46 years. 91 inches of snow, a record breaking streak of time below 40 degrees and the record for the coldest April on record - more than 110 years!

Along the way, beautiful vistas of the Alaska Range, and after photographing the rifle, a chance to see Emma's horse DocBlume, Booger, the tomcat sunning himself in the doorway with one of his kittens, and Emma's flock of recently hatched chicks.

  1. Amazing work as always! My grandfather gave me a Damascus years ago that he said was made by Jud...always wanted to send him pictures to see if he remembers the knife.
