Nearly 15 years ago I asked Jud to make two gifts for the doctors who had rendered care above and beyond the call of duty to try to save my late wife's life from cancer. The project illustrated here was given to the oncologist and took the form of a porringer, personalized with details of family. Jud hammered this out of solid silver leaving hammer marks on the inside and burnishing the outside to a high polish. The passing of years has given it a beautiful patina. The recipient has since passed away, but the legendary beauty of this piece and the fond memories of those days linger on.
