Just finished: a beautifully crafted later flint era rifle.
Jud has just finished this beautiful rifle for Ed Louer.
.50 calibre, with a captured lid patch box, this rifle is Jud's interpretation of a rifle from the Westward Expansion. In the next post I will show pictures of the rifle as it was created, including case hardening the lock. Finishing the stock was itself a slow and laborious process requiring many applications of finish and more than two months of drying and rubbing to get the color and wear "just right".
