This fine rifle features a handmade lock and an exquisite maple stock. All components were handmade by Jesse including the brass furniture which Jesse and his brothers cast in sand.

This rifle represents the pinnacle of Jesse's artistic endeavor so far and is for sale. Interested parties should contact Jesse by phone at 907-895-5153 or 907-803-3612.

Just finished: a beautifully crafted later flint era rifle.

Jud has just finished this beautiful rifle for Ed Louer.
.50 calibre, with a captured lid patch box, this rifle is Jud's interpretation of a rifle from the Westward Expansion. In the next post I will show pictures of the rifle as it was created, including case hardening the lock. Finishing the stock was itself a slow and laborious process requiring many applications of finish and more than two months of drying and rubbing to get the color and wear "just right".

The Crockett Rifle

The exquisite David Crockett rifle was completed on April 5, 2013.
I will leave it to the expert & owner, Robert Weil, to explain the provenance of this beautiful late style flintlock. This rifle will appear on the website that inspires this one: contemporarymakers.blogspot.com.
