The Victor Rifle: Forging the Butt Plate

II.
Forging the Butt Plate

The Long Road Winding! (Five years of work to produce a masterpiece)

In 2009 Jud Brennan began work on a commission to produce a rifle that would represent his best work for a patron.
The rifle was completed July 2014. The author of this blog photographed this vast and complicated project from the beginning and a sampling of those photos follows in the next installments.

Winter in Alaska

Once again Alaska's winter snows are upon us.
The author of this blog has been given the honor of authoring an article on Jud's son Jesse in the Jan/Feb issue of "The Muzzleloader Magazine". I would urge all who are interested in the Brennan's family to obtain a copy to read this article and to see the numerous high resolution photographs by Ric Lambert of Jesse's work.
Jesse will be attending the 18th Century Artisans Show in Lewisburg, PA in early February and he is bringing several completed rifles, a fowler and other projects with him to display and offer for sale to discriminating collectors.
